This post has been a long time coming. Like, two years in the making. I have been threatening to learn how to crochet for so long (those of you who follow us on twitter will have heard me saying 'this month is the month'), and now I've only gone and bloomin' done it! Hallelujah! And what an addictive pass time it is. I think I'm a little bit addicted. I am currently making a cushion cover that is made up of nine individual granny squares. They only use a few basic stitches, and involve a lot of repetition which is great if you are just starting out and need a project that will ease you in.
I've been doing loads of research into my next crochet project, so if any of you know of any great beginners projects then please do send them my way. Some of you may have seen our post a couple of months back about our love of Wool & The Gang, well they have just released a new crochet range and they also have great video tutorials showing you how to get started. So if you need a bit of guidance head over to their wool school.
We have also teamed up with the marvellous Stitch Up to bring you a summer full of craft workshops in Leeds. One of these is how to crochet a granny square. We are providing all the equipment you need plus tea and cake. You want to come along check out the details here! Looking forward to seeing you all there.
