DIY Turban Hat

Hello there!
I don't know about you, but I'm one of those people who is very cautious about wearing hats. I always feel they are quite a statement and I have to wake up feeling very brave before I wear one out for the day. This is why I am so happy with this DIY. I really love all the turban hats on the high street at the moment but didn't want to waste my money on something I would never wear. So, I decided to make one for myself and it cost me zero pence. I used an old hat and a button that was lying at the bottom of my sewing basket. I think it looks really good, and hopefully I will get a lot of wear out of my newly up cycled hat!

You Will Need:
A beanie hat, needle, thread, button or bead.

Step 1: Gather the front of the hat in a concertina motion. It needs to have about 4 folds in it. Stitch in place using matching thread and a needle and tie off at the back.

Step 2: Pull the excess material at the top of the hat down to the back so that it fit to your head. Stitch in place and tie off again.

Step 3: Sew your button or bead on the front of the hat, where the material is gathered.

And that's it! A 15 minute, bang on trend DIY!

So, what do you think? Is there any other trends that you are loving on the high street at the minute?
Love, Kendall

  1. This is such a cool idea! And money saving! I bought a turban a few weeks ago and I've only worn it once, doh. Might have to try this on an old beanie though! xx

We LOVE hearing from you! Thank you for your wonderful words :)
