It was my sister's birthday at the weekend and to celebrate me and her collection of friends from all over the country visited Kensington for Afternoon Tea! It was such a lovely, relaxing and indulgent afternoon I would really recommend it for a birthday treat.
We were seated and greeted with champagne and a wonderful selection of teas. Next followed the finger sandwiches, each with different yummy fillings and, of course, not a crust in sight! Then came what we were all looking forward to; the CAKE! Tiered cake stands were brought out, full of exciting goodies (or badies, which ever way you look at it!!). They served us beautifully light and spongy scones with jam and clotted cream. On the middle tier there were slices of lots of different loaf cakes, from Banana, to Fruit, to Maderia cake. And the best till last, gorgeous hand-crafted 'cakey creations' on the top of the stand. They had taken inspiration from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe as it was being performed in Kensington Gardens. So spot this influence in the photos...
We all had such a fabulous time; everyone gave it a big thumbs up.Its a perfect 'get together' for all your old or new friends to meet and have a leisurely afternoon. And whats better than having a big catch up over scrumptious cake?! So if your thinking of doing something a bit different than the usual night out for future birthdays or a special occasion then definitely give it a go! I really couldn't recommend it enough. We managed to get a great deal for £20 a head so shop around and look at vouchers online.
I'm definitely going to suggest this to my fellow TWB girls, Kendall and Emily, especially as we all turn 21 during the next academic year!!
Go on, treat yourself!
Lots of love
