Home Made Face Masks & Scrubs

With spring well and truly in full swing all we want is fresh beautiful looking skin, so we’ve tried and tested a few home remedies!
This facemask is brilliantly simple as it only uses 3 ingredients that you’re guaranteed to have lying around the house: 1tbsp Live Natural Yogurt, 1tpsp Oatmeal and a few drops of honey. The yogurt and honey will cleanse and rehydrate your skin while the oatmeal exfoliates! And its suitable for all skin types. Perfect!

Add the yogurt to the oatmeal in a small bowl and mix together.
Add a few drops of runny honey. If you don’t have the gooey stuff, warm a spoon under hot water for a minute, then take a small scoop of honey.
Stir the honey into the yogurt and oatmeal mixture.
Apply the mask to the face rubbing in a circular motion to exfoliate. Leave it on for 10 minutes until it starts to dry, then rinse off with of warm water. Follow with a damp face cloth to wash off the extra bits.
 Apply moisturizer.
This face mask felt really effective. My skin was so soft and smooth afterwards. Only it was a bit messy to apply and we had oats flying every where!!

Now this may seem like an odd combination at first but these ingredients do a fantastic job of decreasing puffiness in the eye area and brighten up your complexion. We love this recipe because you can tailor it for your skin type! If you have dry skin adding yogurt is best, or lemon juice if you have oily skin. If you have super dehydrated skin, oils work as a good substitute for dairy. And if you have lots of the face mask left over you can keep it in the fridge for several days!! All you need is 1 Tbsp of instant coffee, 1 Tbsp of cocoa powder and 2 Tbsp of Natural Yogurt

Add the coffee and cocoa powder in a bowl and mix together with a few splashes of boiling water. This is to break down the coffee granules so they don’t scratch your face.
Next add the natural yogurt and mix thoroughly into a smooth paste.

Apply the paste to your face and neck.
Leave for about 10-15 minutes to let the mask dry then wash off with warm water and a face cloth.
This face mask was great because it was really easy to apply. It was a good smooth but thick texture, like a mud mask you can work it into your skin before leaving it to dry.
